Impressive Turnout for the Annual IEEE Student Branch BBQ

On Friday 11th July, the IEEE student branch committee set off to Ghadira bay to host the annual BBQ. This year we had an impressive turnout, with over 50 persons coming to enjoy an evening together. Food and drinks were plentiful and a volley ball net contributed to the fun factor. As promised, the IEEEsb gave those present the opportunity to win prizes and this year, Analiza Abdilla and Michaela Camilleri won an IEEE student membership for a year while Sarah Tabone and Anne Zammit won a Gift4You voucher worth €20 each.

The IEEEsb would like to thank all those who came to the BBQ for making this even such a success.

We would also like to thank all those who helped us especially Owen Casha, Carmelo Camilleri, Edward Camilleri, Mark Gulliamier, James Borg Bartolo, Joseph Bonnici, Marc Anthony Azzoppardi, Jacqueline Saliba and Anabel Abela and Kenneth Scerri. We are indebted with these people who donated their time to  prepare food, carry stuff and in general were very patient with the committee members :)

IEEE & UESA Welcome New Students

The first year in any new school is always a bit daunting, so IEEE has teamed up with UESA to welcome all new students in the Engineering and ICT courses. So, we're planning an end-of-summer BBQ right at the start of Fresher's week. New students are encouraged to come and meet current students and possibly even some of your new lecturers - a great opportunity to get to know whose who in an informal way! Current students are also invited - let's close the summer in a grand way before putting our heads down to serious business!

Keep in tune for more info!

Following the impressive turnout of this year's SPAC conference, the IEEE student branch has prepared a short feedback form which we'd like you to fill in. This will help us to identify your expectations and so improve the organisation of this conference in the following years.

We've also uploaded the power-point presentations of some of the talks given in this conference (follow this link to download select and download presentations)
